When Rest Feels Selfish

rest slowing down Apr 27, 2026

Today's episode is called What to do when rest feels selfish.
This is the third in our series on how to set Christ like boundaries without feeling guilty.

We must understand foundational principles about Jesus Christ and who he was and how he showed up so that we can be more like him.
One of the things that Jesus was really good at was setting boundaries.
And so today we're going to talk about another one of those foundational principles.

We believe that it's selfish to rest. We feel like we have to prove ourselves and earn love by working all the time.

We feel safer when we're being overly responsible and overworking and busy all the time because it gives us a sense of feeling in control.
And we have the sense of I need to earn rest.
So when we have those beliefs, it goes against this idea that Jesus took time to rest and that rest is required for us to restore, to renew, to recover, and to reconnect.

And it's just easier just to get the work

How to Stop Trying Fixing Everything and Everyone

boundaries christlikelove Apr 09, 2026

Today's episode is called How to Stop trying to fix Everything and Everyone and it is the first in our series on how to set Christ like boundaries without feeling guilty.

It would be so easy for me to just say, OK, the next time you need to set a boundary, all you have to do is just say, well, that doesn't work for me.
But the problem is, is that we have core values.
We have deeply held beliefs, and we have identity issues that make saying no or disappointing someone feel not only impossible but incredibly painful.

So we need to shift some of the foundational beliefs that we have so that it makes it more easy for us to be like Jesus.
Because Jesus absolutely set boundaries, and he set some hard boundaries.
And we will learn about that in this series.
Our first challenge is that we feel responsible for everyone and everything.

If we don't take care of it all, it feels like it's all going to fall apart.
And we feel it's our job to rescue people.

The Lie Making You Exhausted and Burned Out

boundaries charity service Apr 09, 2026

Today's episode is our second in the series on how to set Christ like boundaries without guilt.
And it is called the lie that is making you exhausted and burnout.

Years ago, when my children were small, I have seven of them, I did daycare so that I could be a stay at home mom.
And so that meant I usually had, I don't know, two or three, three or four extra kids running around my house besides my 7.
One day there was a lady in our ward in our neighborhood who was moving and she was a hoarder and she needed help.

The thought of helping this lady move was so completely overwhelming for me.
I knew I wouldn't be able to do it when the Relief Society president called me and asked if I can her help her move.
There was several ladies in our ward who were going over to help her.
I said no.

I said I can't because I have my own children plus my dare care kids and I can't leave.
She said oh good.
Well all the ladies who are coming to help me to babysit her so we'l

How to have peace when things go wrong

hope peace thingsgowrong Feb 26, 2026

Today's episode is called How to Have Peace When Things Go Wrong.

Going to the temple is really hard for me. It's hard for me to sit still. It's hard for me to get answers.

On Saturday, I went to the temple, and the person in front of me had this pukey smelling perfume that made me want to throw up.

The person next to me was cracking their knuckles, which made me want to stab my eyeballs out, and the guy across the way was talking so loud and wouldn't stop talking that I couldn't even think.

As all of these things are happening simultaneously, I began to cry. I thought, why am I even here? It's hard to fill the spirit when you're so frustrated and irritated, and I knew that that was my issue, not theirs.

People are people. They're going to show up the way they're going to show up. But it was a frustrating experience for me.

Then, you know, I think it's so ironic that I teach people how to find answers in the scriptures. And a lot of the times when I open m...

How to Take Inspired Action

grace takingaction trust Feb 19, 2026

Today's episode is called How to take inspired action.
We are talking about the law of success.
And from personal experience, what I, I have this, this challenge of, of always pushing, pushing, pushing and, and driving forward into this space of burnout.

There's a better way.
I want to talk about that today and how we can have more fun in the things that we're doing and we can feel more inspired and more excited about the projects and the challenges that we're facing so that it doesn't feel so hard or so overwhelming.

So that we can grow our capacity.
The way that we do that is we get our direction and we get our inspiration from the Lord.
And this is a three-step process that we're going to cover today.
I want to start by telling kind of an embarrassing story.
I'm embarrassed because now I know better.

I would have never done this, but years ago when I was building my business, I had four jobs and four church callings and seven children and I I was so

How to Stop Waiting and How to Start Moving

Today's episode is called How to Stop Waiting and How to Start Moving. This is the fourth in our series on the Law of Creation.

The Law of Creation states that we are all creators. We are like God and we were born to create. And we are creating every time we think, feel, say, or do something, whether we recognize it or not.

The goal is to use our thinking, our feelings, our thoughts, our actions to create something that we love, a life that we love. The problem, though, is that we get overwhelmed.

Life moves at such a fast pace, and there are so many problems to solve, and there are so many things to do, and there are so many distractions that some days we spend the whole day putting out fires, or some days it feels like no matter how hard we

try, nothing changes. So I'd like to address those problems today and help you to find a way to take action in spite of them.

When we take even small actions, we create more capacity, we create more confidence, and we crea...

One Shift That Makes Forgiving Others Easier

forgiving healing peace Feb 05, 2026

Today's episode is called The One Shift That Makes Forgiving People Easier.

This month, our focus is on all about the law of forgiveness. As we forgive others, we free ourselves. Holding on to resentment keeps us stuck in the energy of lack and debt towards ourselves and towards others.

Forgiveness isn't about excusing a wrong. It's about releasing the weight that blocks peace, abundance, and healing. Let's talk about the reasons to forgive.

I want to give you five really important reasons why we need to forgive. The first is obvious because God commands it. He said in D&C 6410, of you, it is required to forgive all men.

And number two, we forgive so that we can be forgiven ourselves. In Luke 637, it says forgive and you shall be forgiven. Number three, non-forgiving can actually make you sick.

There's been a lot of studies done, and it's really interesting. In fact, unforgiveness is actually classified in medical books as a disease. According to Dr.

Stephen Stanford, the chief o...

How to Create Lasting Transformation

Today's episode is called How to Create Lasting Transformation, Part 1.

This month, we are studying the law of sacrifice, and basically the law of sacrifice states that everything has a price, and a price must be paid for everything.

Today we are going to take that a little bit deeper, and we are going to talk about what that means from God's perspective, and what he teaches us about it in the scriptures. And here's a couple of verses that will help us with that.

First in Psalms 51, verse 7, it says, The sacrifices of God are a broken spirit, a broken and a contrite heart.

Then in 3 Nephi 9, 19, and 20, it says this, And ye shall offer up unto me no more the shedding of blood, yea, your sacrifices and your burnt offerings shall be done away, for I will accept none of your sacrifices and your burnt offerings.

And ye shall offer for a sacrifice unto me a broken heart and a contrite spirit.

And whoso cometh unto me, listen for the promise, and whoso cometh un...

The Energy Behind Creation

creation energy Jan 22, 2026

Today's episode is called The Energy Behind Creation.

It's the third in our series on The Law of Creation. And The Law of Creation basically states that we are born to be creators, that we are like our Heavenly Father and He creates, and we can co-create with Him.

We are constantly creating, whether we realize it or not. We create with our thoughts, we create with our feelings, we create with our actions, and we create with our words. And so we can be intentional about that and create a life we want.

We can use creation, the power of creation, to overcome and solve our problems and create those relationships and those experiences that we're really hoping for. One of the big challenges we have, though, is fear gets in our way.

I think we are all afraid sometimes. And that doesn't mean there's something wrong with this. It just means it's part of life.

So that's what I want to address today as we talk. And I'd like to get started by talking about the parable of t...

Nothing Changes Until You Choose

Today's episode is called Nothing Changes Until You Choose. And it is the second in our series on the law of creation.

The law of creation basically states that we are co-creators with God. We were designed to create and we are creating every minute of every day, whether we know it or not.

We create with our thoughts, we create with our feelings, our words, and our actions, the things we do. And so we want to create something different. We want to create something new.

We need to be intentional about that. The problem is that we get stuck. We get stuck in indecision.

We get stuck in the same old problems, the same old patterns, the same old choices. And we're just stuck. We're waiting on God, but nothing's moving.

Not choosing is what's keeping you stuck. It's not a space of faith to just sit around and wait for God to wave his magic wand and make it all better. It's not how it works.

We're invited to choose. One of my favorite analogies is the analogy of ...
